Class Brainstorm
Recommended for all grades
Introduce the topic and partly explain: what is student accountability? Understanding this crucial concept will help students take responsibility for their actions.
Form a list, with a series of professions, such as police officer, doctor, librarian, store clerk…etc. Have students work in small groups and make lists of all the things that these people must do in order to help others. As well, discuss what might happen if these people did not exist, or, if they did not do their jobs properly. This is called, “being accountable”. Within the same groups, pose the question: what are students accountable for? To whom are they accountable towards? Discuss. |
Community Circle
Recommended for grades 4-8
Discuss the following:
1. Who is accountable for the choices people make?
2. Who is accountable for our school? Community? World?
